For plains game we recommend you bring the rifle you shoot the best with a minimum caliber of .270.  The minimum caliber for the Big Five is .375. Special requirements regarding caliber, shooting abilities and hunting conditions can be discussed with the outfitter. African animals are tough, please invest in a good quality bullets.  Shots can range from 50-300 yards depending on the terrain.  On most occasions you will shoot from shooting sticks.  Practice with these on your shooting range before your safari.  Only one rifle of a caliber is allowed and Customs only allows two rifles and one shotgun per client.  No semi-automatic or automatic rifles.  Handguns only allowed for hunting.  Maximum of 200 rounds per caliber.

Rifle Hire

We also offer you the option to rent a rifle from us. We have a wide selection of calibers and will advise you on this according to your trophy list.

Renting of rifles will cost $50/day. Ammunition at cost.
